About

Hello and welcome! I’m Cindy, a 34-year-old lawyer living in Boston with my kickass husband Dan and our little monster kitty Lucy.

imageMy motivation for this blog is wine + running. I love wine and learning new things about it. I’m a total novice but I like to keep track of the little pieces of information I learn along the way. I had a tumblr page where I tried to catalog all of my favorite wines with tasting notes, but had trouble keeping up with it. I incorporated that page here in an effort to resume.

Additionally, last year was the year I began to enjoy running. I had been jogging on and off casually for years but never loved it. But that was before I learned that they serve BEER after races!

(If I’m not cheating on wine with beer, I’m cheating on beer with wine).

How do these two opposing forces (wine + running) come together? Well, I just joined  Team Challenge to train for a half marathon and raise money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2011 and want to do my part to raise awareness and help fund research in hopes of finding a cure.  What better way to do it than by training for my first half marathon?

I named the site “Next Stop Napa” because I am running the Destination: Napa to Sonoma! Yes, this wine lover/running enthusiast/UC-having lady gets to train for run her first half marathon in WINE COUNTRY while raising money for Crohn’s and Colitis research. And everything falls into place!

My goals for Next Stop Napa are to 1) document my team training and fundraising; and 2) continue to catalog and discuss the great wines I try! I hope you enjoy.

Cheers!
